This is an awesome service for people out of coverage. It allows you to send an emergency message via satellite.
Additionally, if you want friends/family/work to know of your location while in an area with no coverage, you can now open the Find My app and share your location via satellite. You can send your location once every 15 minutes.
- It works with an iPhone 14, 15 & 16
- You need to be outside with a clear view of the sky
- The service is included for free (Apple keep extending it)
Emergency SOS is different from sending a normal message, so its suggested try the demo now:
- Open settings
- Tap ‘Emergency SOS’
- Under Emergency SOS via satellite, tap ‘Try Demo’.
