Fortunately there is a replacement service, Wifi Calling. However you may need to buy a new phone.<\/p>\n<p>With Wifi Calling it\u2019s possible to make and receive calls or text messages (SMS) in any location covered by Wifi, even when you don\u2019t have a mobile signal.<\/p>\n<p>Currently there are two operators that give their customers Wifi calling (Vodafone and 2Degrees). You will need a compatible phone:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vodafone.co.nz\/our-networks\/wifi-calling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vodafone supported phones<\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.2degrees.nz\/help\/mobile-help\/calling-features\/phones-compatible-with-volte-and-wifi-calling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2Degrees supported phones<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most of the newer top tier phones will do Wifi Calling. <em>However there may still be an issue if you move the phone to a different provider.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The budget end of the market has only a few phones that will do Wifi calling. This is what I found available directly from the providers:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section
